Whether you’ve played soccer for years or are simply looking for a reason to get back on the field, the goal is the same: good soccer, good exercise and a great time with other adults who enjoy the game.

When Do We Play?
Adult Coed games are generally played Sunday through Thursday evenings, usually 9:15pm, but we do have occasional 8:15 games.
We work to keep schedules as consistent as possible, but exact days and times depend on the number of teams, facility availability and the overall league schedule. Bye weeks, scheduling conflicts or other circumstances may occasionally create gaps or require games on different evenings.
How Coed Play Works
This is a coed league, and both genders must be represented on the field. Teams must roster at least two players of the opposite gender, and both genders must be represented on the field during play.
The purpose of the coed requirement is to maintain the inclusive, social and competitive character of the league—not simply to satisfy a roster rule.
Team Size
Games are played 5v5 — four field players and a goalkeeper.
We recommend approximately 10 players per team, although teams may roster up to 12 players. There is no minimum roster size, but teams should build a roster large enough to account for work, family obligations, injuries and the occasional night when somebody realizes that a soccer game sounded like a much better idea when they registered.
Only properly registered and rostered players may participate. Guest players and unregistered substitutes are not permitted.
The Style of Play
Indoor soccer is fast-paced and designed to keep everyone involved. Adult Coed uses a futsal-style ball, there are no offsides, and substitutions may be made on the fly.
Sliding is not permitted, except for the goalkeeper within the goalkeeper area. Shin guards are required, and only appropriate plastic or soft-soled footwear may be worn on the turf.
Competition & Playoffs
Competition is part of the experience, and standings are maintained throughout the season. The top four teams advance to the playoffs. At the same time, this is an adult recreational league. We want competitive games, but the larger purpose is to provide adults with an opportunity to stay active, enjoy soccer and share the camaraderie that comes with playing the game.
There will be winners, losers, standings and playoffs—but nobody is getting scouted.
Who Should Play?
Adult Coed is a great fit for:
- Former high school or college players who still want to compete
- Recreational players looking for organized soccer
- Adults returning to the game after some time away
- Friends, coworkers or groups who want to form a team
- Anyone looking for a more entertaining way to exercise than spending another night on a treadmill
You don’t have to be an elite player. You should simply be ready to compete, respect your opponents and officials, and have some fun.
Our Philosophy
For our adult programs, Adirondack Coast Sports aims to provide a fun, entertaining and fitness-oriented experience built around the shared camaraderie of the game. We want to compete. We want to keep score. We want to win.
But at the end of the night, it’s still just a game.
